About Us
The Stephen Doughton Jr. Foundation is a private non-profit family foundation established by Stephen and his family in 2008. The Foundation’s purpose is to raise donations to support Leukemia medical professionals and increase community awareness.

In May 2006, Stephen was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). He was treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) and is currently in remission. After enduring the horror of being a cancer patient and witnessing young children battling cancer, Stephen and his family decided to start a foundation in 2008. Since then they have raised over $280,000 for Leukemia research and patient assistance.

Stephen graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2012 with a Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He currently works for Shelco, LLC a General Contractor as the Vice-President of Business Development and is based in Winston-Salem NC. In 2010 Stephen was awarded the Outstanding Fundraising Youth award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He continues to fundraise for research and patient assistance through the Stephen Doughton Jr. Foundation annual golf tournament and individual contributions.
